James and Osaro were good friends while going through primary school somewhere in Bendel State. They played together, read together and ran errands together. Both boys were brilliant while in primary school. However, Osaro was more privileged, coming from a family of the middle class. On the other hand, James' father was a gatekeeper. Though brilliant, James' parents had to work extra hard to see him through primary school.
Both boys always shared their dreams of becoming businessmen in the future. That was all they dreamt about. And they never failed to share that dream with their parents.
Secondary school education took Osaro to a distant land. Jammed attended a government secondary school in Bendel, and proceeded to learn trading in fabrics. Osaro completed his secondary education and returned to Bendel for his university education where he studied Accounting & Finance.
James is now a businessman dealing in fabrics, while Osaro works with one of the banks. Both men now live in Benin City doing their things. Osaro is saving in order to go into business as he had always dreamt of. James, now a businessman, is leaving no stone unturned in trying to learn what he needs in order to grow his business.
His learning opened his eyes to the digital world. He has learnt how digital technology can benefit his fabric business. So, he engaged the services of a "Digital Marketing Strategist" like "Me" to help him create a digital strategy for his fabric business. One year later, James' fabric business has grown its customer base beyond its locality, and experienced growth in sales.
While looking for a business to start, Osaro ran into James, who was dressed in a very simple outfit- a pair of jeans and a T-shirt. " It's been ages!" Osaro yelled as they hugged each other. "I'm looking for a business to start as we always dreamt of," he continued. "Can I help you in that area?" James asked. "Oh no!" Osaro protested. "I don't think you'll be able to help me in choosing a business to start." "We learnt a lot in school, and you have no idea about things like that." He concluded. James looked at him in utter surprise, exchanged pleasantries with him as they departed.
